Charles Stanley Nott

Charles Stanley Nott (1887-1978) was a writer, publisher, translator and pupil of G.I. Gurdjieff. He met Gurdjieff and Alfred Orage in New York in 1923. Following this meting, he joined the Institute for the Harmonious Development of Man at the Prieuré, where he studied very intensely with Gurdjieff. He provided assistance in the publication and distribution of Gurdjieff’s first published book The Herald of the Coming Good. He was closely associated with Orage, Dr. Stjoernval, Thomas de Hartmann and later Ouspensky. He wrote two books about his experiences with Gurdjieff, Ouspensky and Orage.
